Review
In case anyone does not know this guitarist, we present to Herman Frank. German guitarist. He has served on Victory from 1986 to present. He formed the band Moon 'Doc played with Sinner. With Accept from 1982 to 84 to return in 2005 and returned in style in 2009 until today.
He has also produced bands like Messiah's Kiss, Saxon and Rose Tattoo.
In 2009 appeared his first solo album titled Loyal to None, which left me very good impression. Now comes his second album Right in the Guts. In this new work will incorporate Christs Mamalitsidis guitar, drummer and vocalist Michael Wolpers Rick Altzi (At Vance, Sandalinas, Thunderstone), which bind to the ex-bassist of Running Wild, Peter Pichl and Herman himself.
After the fever of early Germanic bands XXI century, the truth is that German bands or bands that collect that legacy of pioneers such as Rage, Helloween and Running Wild have lost presence in the scene. Relegated by this return to more traditional roots, by the constant mixing of different styles and success of Scandinavian bands, the truth is that it is a style in a disused, being championed by bands survivors and not in all cases.
For Herman Frank brings us a pure metal album of Germanic. A classic scent that breathes work, while sounding very fresh. It returns the classics things of the genre like the melodies of guitar, drums fast double bass, vocal melodies and riffs typical of forever. Traditional German Hard Heavy Metal.
Good success to sign Rick Altzi, who with his voice, mediating between the Hard Rock and Heavy (reminds me of the great Jeff Scott Soto), able to adapt to the issues and provide them with claw and good performances.
As for the tracks, for short songs and mostly fairly straightforward. The Lights Are Out fast, Ivory Gate, Roaring Thunder, Waiting and Starlight, with the latter to Accept. Half-times very solid like Right in Your Guts, Raise Your Hand and Kings Call with one of the best tracks on the album Hell Is not Far, make this work a collection of hymns that are brought to remember the good times bands like Accept, Running Wild, Axel Rudi Pell, Victory, etc ...
Very good second work of Herman Frank, which reaffirms its good time seeing what he does with Accept. A look at a style somewhat left behind and that for some (myself included) was the beginning of a journey metal and very pleasant memories. Putting it back in now with a fresh sound and a very dynamic songs.
German Metal is Back!
