Review
Oker come from Madrid, a young and promising band, which has recorded his debut album, cheated death. Oker's proposal could not be more simple, Heavy Metal, with the seal of the 80 burned into every corner of the disc. From the cover letters (just listen to the song Oker) and of course, the music, we are transported back in time to those 80's. Oker has a feminist voice, Carmen "Xina". Carmen's voice fits quite well in the vein of the band. Without a linear virtuosity and if it shows character and aggression, where the result is that air pimp that fits well with the proposal of the band.
Musically issues are very simple and fairly straightforward. Linear songs, which is missing some more variety. Although it makes up for cuts that trap the first listen. Some topics are being stretched over a bit repetitive. And some riffs (especially some bridges) are a little out of place, disposal or any small change would give more dynamism to the issues.
Bearing in mind this is a debut album, the album sounds good. Above the voice of Carmen, although other instruments have much room for improvement, understandable.
Rebels feature topics such as steel, I Rock, ballad Hero Lost, Oker or Traitor. And highlight the participation of Oscar de Lust in the theme that closes the disc, the Rock scavengers.
Promising debut from a band with a lot of room for improvement and he liked most classical to the ears. Oker hopefully keep improving and providing good Heavy Metal to the national scene.
You were always different
You deal with loneliness
Know who is the strongest
You know you will win
I just want to rock
I only rock & roll
